When realistic art is done well it is done as
an abstraction, where the pattern of shapes, relationships
of forms, and lights and darks inform the object. One
must be able to see without distortion, without the intellect
or memory getting in the way of reality. One must learn
to be quiet inside so that the process of seeing is not
disturbed by the thinking
of the mind. |
